Oil, wax, patina. Why we ship objects slightly early and trust them to age.
A varnished table is finished the day you buy it. An oiled table is finished in about five years.
We finish our wood with two thin coats of hard wax oil and leave the rest to you. Rings from glasses, a sun patch near the window, a dent where a child dropped a spoon. These are part of the object now.
If you would rather it did not change, we will gladly recommend something else. Most of our customers do not.
